I just had a bit of time and experimenting with CVS I think if you
change the patch to call "cvs -f update -d 'inexistent dir name'"
instead of creating the file it will work.
The -f option to CVS is needed because if you have something like
"update -Pd" on your .cvsrc it still doesn't work.
Could you send me a patch to test? I would do it but I know nothing
about python.
