No, you should have been using a greedy revision library, which solves
this problem ;-)

A sparse greedy revlib won't solve this. Only a non-sparse greedy revlib will. And a non-sparse greedy "solves" it by keeping a copy of every revision between patch-60 and patch-142!

The other option currently available is to make a local mirror of the archive in advance.
