Yes I agree, and in fact that's what I do (using Gnus)*, but of course
not everybody uses a very capable MUA / MTA.
* But I still like getting duplicates, because it often speeds up
delivery greatly, and allows me to continue a thread I'm active in even
when the list server has decided to go off in the corner and sulk.
