Yes, that's the recomended way with arch.

I don't  agree here. I work on  3 different machines, and  use arch to
keep them  synchronized. I  sometimes checkout the  same project  in a
temporary location, for example to commit a small bugfix in the middle
of a larger modification. 

I don't think I'm the only one.
