It's a matter of practicality I think.  You could make the same argument with
regard to the `cat-log' command, but OTOH, it's a very, very, commonly used
command, and I think everybody would go nuts if they had to constantly type
`cat-patch-log'.

My impression is that these options being discussed will be much more rarely
used, so the precision/convenience tradeoff is different, but I don't really
know that for sure...
