I didn't say you would.  Most users are able to install Debian fine
without it, but it might make sense to look into it in case you
encounter problems.

Sure, but some might errornously try to install a development version 
or an obsolete version.

I do not know what your actual issue was, so it is hard to comment on
this, and off-topic as well.  I just renounce the notion that "Debian is
impossible to install" or something.
