OK so GUI should immediatly convert LaTeX sequences into UTF-8 
characters, so standardization would be easy. LaTeX sequences would just 
be easier ways to type characters.
"LaTeX packages" : do you mean directly usable libraries or external 
programs ? The better would be simple libs to do this.
