I was a mentor last year, but there are a lot of other people who would be
excellent mentors, so I think we should rotate - unless there's
a special reason (eg, we get more students if we have more mentors)
I'll give it a miss this year and let someone else do it. :-)
Btw I enjoyed it last year because Chris was a good (and very nice) student,
but had a hard time finding the time to follow him properly as I'm
already swamped - like most other people I think - by projects/things to do.
Next time I do it I'll allocate lot more time for it, and I recommend
to everyone who will be a mentor to think about the time it takes in
advance. It's worth it (I look forward to my next mentoring), but
if you want to do a good job with your student, you'll have to follow
him/her very regularly. :-)
Thanks
