I don't know how this could be happening --- there are no
instances of rl_ in the C++ code in octave-forge.  I don't know
what the relevant octave commands are, but I don't see
instances of the word 'history' in the m-file scripts.

The only thing I can suggest is removing the octave-forge
directories one at a time until the problem goes away.  Please
let us know how it goes---if we don't see the bug ourselves, it
is hard to fix the problem.
