problem with total-expire

Hi!

I've problem with expiring old articles from "gmane" newsgroups.

Here is the setup which I have:

(setq gnus-parameters 
...

("gmane"
(total-expire . t)
 (posting-style
      (name "Gour")
      (address "gour@mail.inet.hr")
      (signature-file "~/Gnus/gour.signature"))
 (gcc-self . "nnimap+localhost-IMAP:list.Sent"))

All mail sent to different gmane.* newsgroups is archived in the above
mentioned 'list.Sent' folder (imap back-end), signature is also
appropriate as well as name & address (as per posting-style), so I
wonder why the (total-expire . t) line does not work and all my old
articles are not expired?
