Hi Folks,

I am getting the following error in /var/log/messages

Mar 19 11:59:45 teclt70 jk_chrootsh[3903]: abort, failed to get user information in the jail for user ID 503: Permission denied, check /home/jail/etc/passwd

but I cannot see what the problem might be. Hoping someone can shed some light on it.

build info
- this is a RHEL5 server (32 bit) kernel version 2.6.18-128.1.1.el5
- the jailkit install was a binary and the version is - jailkit-2.5-1.el5.rf

my file permissions and contents are as follows

ls -l /home/jail/etc/passwd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 74 Mar 19 11:44 /home/jail/etc/passwd

cat /home/jail/etc/passwd
root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash
foo:x:503:503::/home/foo:/usr/sbin/jk_lsh

ls -l /home/jail/etc/group
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 25 Mar 19 11:31 /home/jail/etc/group

cat /home/jail/etc/group
root:x:0:root
foo:x:503:

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,
Glyn
