compiling lily 2.0 under cygwin

To get lilypond-2.0.0 to compile under a recent
cygwin, I had to do the following:
 
$ cd /usr/lib
$ ln -s python2.3/config/libpython2.3.dll.a .
 
If I could make any sense of GNU configuration tools I
would have put the
'-L/usr/lib/python2.3/config' and
'-lpython2.3.dll'
into the sources and generated a patch for you... but
currently my knowledge is insufficient.
 
This is the first time I've tried compiling any
lilypond under cygwin, so this is probably old news to
regulars of this list.
