Thanks David, but I'm afraid it didn't quite work.
If I do this...

ba da ba }

... it has the same effect as before (i.e. notes "e" and "g" wrongly
put on the top of each other).
If I do this...

... then the notes are correct, but the "pa ba da ba" lyrics do not
appear at all and the error trail goes as follows:
