Given the current naming scheme, I've been putting both variations in
my font database in some cases, e.g.,
HelveticaNeue-Condensed
HelveticaNeueCondensed-Base
HelveticaNeue-BoldCond
HelveticaNeueCondensed-Bold
It might be more intuitive if the font management would handle weight,
width and slope separately, which would need database entries somewhat
like this:
address@hidden @Tag {"UniversCondensed-BoldSlope"}
@Family {"Univers"}
@Width {"Condensed"}
@Weight {"Bold"}
@Slope {"Italic"}
@Name {"UniversE-BoldCondensedItalic"}
@Metrics {"_qbci___.afm"}
@Mapping {"microLaser.LCM"}
@Recode {"Yes"}}
Actually, I think it might be useful to handle the font encoding
similarly.
