Actually, would you mind leaving the pot regeneration until the language simplification patches I sent earlier this week are committed? I'd think that way we would have a more consistent hitory in the source tree.
Maintainers can feel free to not accept the patch and generate the gettext files themselves. Is it perhaps a unclear maintainer hierarchy that is the reason behind them not being merged? It didn't occur to me that they weren't, what's holding them back?
If no objections have surfaced yet I'd say you should feel free to merge yourself. You can merge your patches first, then merge my copyright patch, then pull from transifex, generate gettext files, and push to transifex, and simply leave my gettext patch.
