Or maybe just switch back to the release version for the time being.
The change to gtk.mk (913) doesn't require glib-compile-schemas. I
just noticed Ubuntu is failing also (log attached) in a different
place, and some of this may be fixed upstream fairly soon.

There's also some other things I needed to try with glib on OSX, but
they need some testing. Basically, OSX does "something" when
installing libraries to make them multi-arch compatible and available.
