Oh, sorry!
Was not me, a friend says me only, and I trusted him blindly. :-(

I check this quick on my PC: It works on Windows NT 4.0!

It should work down to 95 with IE4, but I've only tested XP.

Here is a test on Windows 98:

C:\TEMP\mt>monotone --version
monotone 0.16 (base revision: ce860bae312c4bb8483d5b3b2a8cd3bebe2323d5)

C:\TEMP\mt>monotone --db=test98.db db init
monotone: misuse: could not find home directory

C:\TEMP\mt>set HOME=C:\TEMP\mt

C:\TEMP\mt>monotone --db=test98.db db init
monotone: misuse: could not find home directory

C:\TEMP\mt>echo %HOME%
C:\TEMP\mt

C:\TEMP\mt>dir %HOME%
MONOTONE EXE 5.241.344 10.01.05 14:55 monotone.exe
... a lot of my files ... :-)

C:\TEMP\mt>monotone --db=test98.db --debug db init
monotone: started up on Windows 95/98/SE/ME (4.10, build 67766446) on unknown

monotone: file_io.cc:54: usage constraint 'N((homedrive!=NULL && homepath!=NULL))' violated

On this PC, I see that the passphrase was always visable on command prompt? Under Linux I never see my password on screen.

This is an as-yet unresolved problem with the Windows version.

C:\TEMP\src>..\monotone --db=..\test.db address@hidden

I guess I should get the Windows version to search for Wordpad by default. Notepad isn't particularly good, since it uses CR+LF by default. Without EDITOR being set, the Windows version currently won't usually find anything...

Yes, wordpad is better. Notepad I use only for quick check. Normaly I use EditPad, this have no problem with CR/LF from Linux files.

Thanks,
