Yeah, restrictions aren't perfect yet. You're telling to ignore anything
outside of '.' (cisc499/papers), but that's making it not know about
'.'s parent directory. (This only happens when the addition of that
parent directory hasn't been committed yet.)

Don't know about these. Looks like maybe it tried (and failed) to
recover from that earlier warning?

This is the result of those warnings. (Why are they warnings instead of
errors?)
