There seems to be cases where da Boost is a moving target, or when a
particular feature (such as the date and time stuff) is too new to be
available on all systems (such as Debian [stable]).  I'm guessing that
Boost 1.32.0 is deployed more or less everywhere, while that doesn't
hold true for 1.33.0.

Last I heard, Boost is a bitch (pardon my french, but then, I'm half
french!) to build, at least according to some.  If it's up to me, I'd
rather rely on external builds as much as possible.

I think that the philosophy with bundled libraries has so far been
that monotone has needed some local changes, and have bundled based on
that.
