Follow-up Comment #6, bug #53186 (project octave):
I attached an updated patch with configure checks and feature tests for print
and getframe. I verified that it allows building the manual even without
osmesa support, but I was not able to check how things works with qt4:
QT_SELECT=qt4 configure ...
was not enough to force configure to pick qt4 on my system even though
QT_SELECT=qt4 qmake --version
returns
QMake version 2.01a
Using Qt version 4.8.7 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
