Follow-up Comment #44, bug #55287 (project octave):

Since this may defeat analysis, I tried to simply go backwards and use
bisection to find which changeset introduced the issue.  But, there have been
changes in gnulib which make it very difficult to compile with GCC > 7 as you
go back in time.  So, defeated.
