I had this problem at one time when I was attempting to use both of
these programs at the same time. The way I fixed it was to install
gaim, and use its gtk package that came with it. Then I would run
Pan, Pan would complain about a missing dll, can't remember right off
hand what the name of it was, something nt.dll. I went to the
directory where gtk was installed by gaim, found the dll that was
named similar, I think it was named just a little different, but you
could tell it was _pretty much_ the same. I then copied it and named
it the name of the missing dll pan was complaining about. Pan
started up and ran without a hitch from then on. Wish I could
remember the name of that dll but it has been a while.
