GRUB 2 CVS repository

Now the CVS repository of PUPA is moved to that of GRUB. It is available
as "grub2" under the same repository as grub.

The repository was moved by a Savannah admin physically, so that it
would not lose history data. If you see any problem, report it to
Savannah hackers.

I have added Marco and Jeroen into the project GNU GRUB, to give them
write permission to the CVS repository. If anyone else requires a write
permission to GRUB 2, let me know.

If you have a local copy of the PUPA repository and want to change it to
the new location, I recommend looking at cvs-utils
<http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/cvs-utils/>. It includes a script
named newcvsroot which changes all repository names appropriately.

We would like to create a new mailing list for GRUB 2 development. But
Savannah has something wrong about this. So I haven't succeeded to make
a list yet. I'm now contacting Savannah hackers. I will announce, once
it is made.

Next things would be to put a notice about this change on the web site
of PUPA, and to update the GRUB homepage. I myself will do the former
(PUPA), but I'd like Saifi to do the latter (GRUB). Saifi, if you need
more info than what you can get from the current web pages of PUPA,
feel free to ask me.

These are short descriptions about future directions:

PUPA: Do not use it any more. We will work on GRUB 2 instead, as a part
of the project GNU.

GRUB: Let's treat it as a working but poor version. For now, GRUB is
much more useful than GRUB 2, but we need to change this. We should not
add any new feature into GRUB. All changes must be bug fixes. (A few
exceptions exist, because I promised some new features should be
included in GRUB.)

GRUB2: This is what we should work on seriously. We don't care about
backward compatibility so much. It must be improved a lot so that it
can be used in everyday work.

Okuji
