Try inserting a floppy, and run mke2fs /dev/fd0
Then mount the disk, and copy rpm.gz to it.
Either that or try some new disks. I had no end of trouble when using
some disks I had laying around. I bought new disks and have had no
trouble since. Chuck Moss posted some info on salvaging old disks as well:

setfdprm -p /dev/fd0 1440/1440
fdformat /dev/fd0
mformat a:

The installer should have no trouble reading a dos file system, so you
might give that a try.

As for mounting the cd, if the drive is old or non standard, the kernel
may not have support compiled in for it. I'm working on using a modular
kernel next, so that may help somewhat. Even when it is found, several
attempts are made to mount it. You'll see several warning/error messages
before it gets mounted. I need to specify the file system type in the
script, which should make most of that go away.

Make sure you also change the second stage script and the reboot script.
/scripts/second_stage_scripts/base_install.sh
/scripts/initial_reboot.sh
to point at the proper hard drive.

I'm planning on having the script ask interactivly for a device to
install on, so in the future editing the script to point at the proper
device won't be necessary.

It's still rough and very much alpha quality. I'll refine it more in the
next week or so.
