Hey guys...finally got the cd recognized and loaded. This is on a 486
w/16meg w/ SB16 and attached cdrom. This was using the boot.img and the
oldcdrom.img disks, from the FSF site. Unfortunately, anaconda threw me
out of the install telling me I didn't have enough ram to install RH. Now
the big question is; is there some way to use slinky to boot; load my
sbpcd module, then load the rpm.gz and carry on the install?? I know
Slackware uses individual boot kernels for this. Would be great if the
option for driver disks could be incorporated into Slinky. The rpm list
is a good thing, but you gotta have a recognized cd; a harddrive install
is impossible, no room. Then we would have an installer for these real
antiques, or oddball configurations!!! Advice here would be greatly
appreciated, as this is the machine I really wanted to use for a mini (it
needs it the most).
Later...G
