A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Federico Montesino Pouzols <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License: Note the library is under the GPL but its manual is under the
FDL.
Package: FreeSDP
System name: freesdp
Type: 1

Description:
FreeSDP - A Free SDP Parser and Formatter

FreeSDP is a stand-alone free library that provides a complete
set of functions to parse and fetch the information multimedia session
descriptions formatted in SDP (see RFC 2327) enclose. It can also
format SDP descriptions from the necessary session parameters.

FreeSDP has been designed designed with minimality, security
and speed in mind. Its only dependency is a standard C library. In
addition, it is thread-safe.

This library may be used in any kind of multimedia session/
conference/streaming application, providing a stand-alone and
standards compliant implementation of the current IETF standard for
multimedia session descriptions.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It already exists and you can download a test distribution at

http://fedemp.suidzer0.org/fs/freesdp/freesdp-0.1.0.tar.bz2

The library is not yet complete and the manual has a lot of TODOs,
however it is already useful and general SDP parsing and formatting
works and is stable.

Other Software Required:
A C compiler and a standard library. The manual is generated with
texinfo, and the reference manual is generated with doxygen.

Other Comments:
Note there is already a GNU package that implements SDP (GNU oSIP).
However that implementation differs in goals from FreeSDP. It is an
implementation done to support the SIP implementation of oSIP (since
an application using SIP will almost always need some SDP support).
However, FreeSDP is a stand-alone implementation (so you can use it
for directory applications based on SAP, instead of SIP, for
instance), implements standard extensions to SDP and provides more
detailed access to SDP lines and fields.
