I'm going to follow up on Rick's suggestion to create a reasonable
but short list of unix tips for new users. I will build such a list
and add it to the FAQ. We don't necessarily want to go over board
here, because even a new user (like me) can get a manual! But, I
agree, that the handy highlights are needed.
SO far, we have
find
grep
whereis
Please take a moment to reflect on the commands you use regularly
and tell me what they are, with a small example.
I'm going to contact the list again when I think this part is done and
I'll notify you of the location of the results.
In the meanwhile, please reflect on the next stage of FAQ improvement:
Objective C usage for SWARM. I've contacted Glen Ropella about this and
I will bother everyone on the list too. What I want from you is a
Statement of the questions
and
An answer.
We will try to stick to FAQs, as opposed to the obscure, only asked once
questions!
