You mean the system PATH?  (Changing .bash_login won't help.) 

Are you sure that Forte sees these these additions to the PATH?
E.g. can you run jheatbugs from a plain DOS-box (not the Cygwin terminal), by
adding swarm.jar to the CLASSPATH beforehand?
