Frescobaldi itself does not generate sheet music. You need to install Lilypond also. In my experience with Catalina, Hans Aberg's .mkpg installs with a double click and works fine(except for convert-

You could also run LilyPond under Linux in a virtual machine on your mac.

After running the LilyPond installer listed at the bottom this page, open the Frescobali app and in Preferences > LilyPond Preferences > “LilyPond versions to use”, set as Default the path /opt/l

Carl, thanks for both tips. The Frescobaldi Downloads page states "Install a copy of Lilypond as well." Not sure how that jives with Catalina. Sorry to be inept re packages and making from source. I

Scripts should generally begin with an appropriate "shebang" to avoid confusion:      #!/usr/bin/env bash I, for instance, run fish in my WSL environment, but I script almost exclusively in bash.

Hello Neyzenemre, Catalina requires the 64 bit version, and 2.20.0 64 runs fine here. Maybe you installed the 32 bit version? JM

On a second attempt, following your very useful suggestions, I was successful. Catalina with Frescobaldi 2.20 and LilyPond-devel are now operating normally. Many thanks to all contributors Mario Bolo
