I did a short test, and I believe that
        find <path> -type f -perm /+x
gives me what I used to get with
        find <path> -type f -perm +x

Although I didn't test all various combinations - there may be other breakage.

But it's much better than
        find <path> -type f -perm +x
where I get no results; I currently use
        find <path> -type f -perm +0111
which works as expected.
