Depends on which 'man' you are talking. This one:

already does (although it does complain ;-)
But why do you insist on using "3am" as the argument to 'man'? why not
let it find the page by itself?
(I assume that Manuel encountered all these problems on MS-Windows,
not on Unix. If the latter, then my 'man' clone won't help him, I
guess.)
