I think so. The ".3am" is my invention: "am" => awk module.
This really clarifies the issue.
Would then be appropriate to put also gawkextlib manpages in section 3am?
I think the
'man' program would need updating to understand that .3am is in section 3
of the manual so that it would look in the right place.
I think that Perl uses "pm" for "perl module" but it's likely that 'man'
knows about that.
Looking into several machines, it seems that sometimes man subsections
(3x) are put in its own directory (man3x), and sometimes they are merged
into the main section (man3).
The man utility is not very smart. It just looks into a directory which
exactly match the section argument, if given.
