I can see nothing in the docs that suggest not to do so. Where do you
saw that hint?
Looking in the defmacro in derived.el revealed that derived modes are
implicitly interactive, so indeed the spec is misplaced. I think it
should be made clear explicitly that a minor mode defined in that way
is interactive by default (as it should be).
