Where did you get the 13pt OS database?

Is it any position that crashes or just a few selected?

I don't have it, so I cannot try to reproduce the problem.

Did you try with some of the smaller OS databases (available from
ftp://ftp.demon.nl/pub/games/gnubg/databases/os/). For example, try with
os8.bd, os10.bd and os12.bd. 

If they also crash gnubg, please check that you've downloaded them with
"binary" option, and that they match the MD5 checksums given on
http://www.gnu.org/software/gnubg/manual/html_node/Obtaining-bearoff-databases.html#Obtaining%20bearoff%20databases.
