Hi,
On my laptop
Samsung Q45 (Vista 32 bit) with a Nvidia GeForce 8400 G graphic card
the 3D-board did not work.
- I tried to update the driver, but samsung did not offer the newest drives.
- I tried a fresh driver from laptopvideo2go.com, but there was no
improvement. the 3D-board still did not show up. (once every while I
saw a board, but no checker or dice movement, the performance test
showed 100+ frames / sec )
- Finally I started to play around with the 3D Settings in the NVIDIA
Control Panel. With everything disabled, the 3D-board showed up and
ran smoothly.
- Then I changed every feature to find out which one caused the failure.
- If "Threaded optimization" is "Off", everything works fine.
To fine tune the 3D Settings I did the following:
* Open NVIDIA Control Panel
* Choose View->Advanced Settings
* 3D Settings->Adjust image settings with preview: choose "Let the 3D
application decide"
* 3D Settings-> Manage 3D settings: on the Tab "Program Settings" hit "Add".
* Browse to gnubg.exe. i.e. :"c:\Program Files\gnubg\gnubg.exe"
* Select the Program to customize: gnubg.exe
* In "Threaded optimization" change the value from "Use global
setting(Auto)" to "Off"
* Hit "Apply"
* Try if your 3D-board works now and give feedback.
* No negative feedback on my English, please. Here is a non-native-writer.
Greetings
