Transferring copyright to you would take as much time as transferring to
the FSF, so I'd just transer it to the FSF directly.

As for re-implementing it, it'd be legaly correct but pretty silly IMO. We
have better things to do than re-writing our code :) (ah.. i hate legal
stuff so much)
