I fully understand GRUB developers are not quite keen to touch GRUB Legacy code
these days, but over at http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-legacy.en.html
is stated that
"Only bugfixes will be made so that GRUB Legacy can still be used for
older systems."
To me, the issue I filed in CentOS is still a bug (of a kind), and
that's why I was hoping
this to be fixed directly in GRUB upstream.
It could be I just didn't get the above statement right.
Switching to other distro is not an option for me (and the company I work for).
Thanks anyway.
