Yes, but by how much?Maybe these extremely thick barlines are a German practice. I note that all the editions you mentioned are from Germany or Austria, and in my own library, the thickest barlines seem to belong to editions from German-speaking or heavily German-influenced areas (Henle, Könemann [actually Hungarian], Wiener Urtext). Thinner barlines are used by American publishers such as Schirmer and International. I have not investigated editions from other countries yet.
