The reason I didn't apply the patch is it wasn't really complete.
It didn't have an UI, for example. Also, I think an EVMS-style
parameter system is a better solution (but I have no objections to
switching to something like that further down the track).

While I don't like partition types (not just numeric ones), I do think
Parted should support them. Just a clean implementation isn't obvious.
Like I said before, something like EVMS' parameter system is needed,
and I don't have time ATM for that...
