You should not try to resize a mounted file system. The process involves
not only sometimes moving data, but also modifications in the file system
metadata structures, which can not be modified concurrently with the kernel
able to access them, because Parted would not be aware of the modifications
made by the kernel and the kernel would not be aware of the modifications
done by Parted.
