Thanks for the prompt reaction!
Good news:
---------
1) gcj 3.3.1 is able to bytecode-compile cleanly:
a) apache-xmlrpc
b) classpathx-servletapi
c) a small test case for xmlrpc+servletapi
2) j2sdk1.4.2_01 JVM can run cleanly the test case (compiled
under gcj 3.3.1).
Bad news:
--------
1) gcj 3.3.1 could not natively compile the test case.
2) gij 3.3.1 can't run the test case.
I'm afraid it takes a more experienced java hacker than
me to trace/fix the problems reported by gcj/gij.
I really intend to develop code which will rely on xmlrpc+servletapi
using only Free Software. I believe I can compile my code with
gcj. What do people usually use to run gcj-compiled classes?
Best regards,
