Our glib in mxe is 2.28.8 though. Maybe the utility is not being installed with glib then. I will have to look. I noticed 20 patches have been made to gub's original branch. I should look through those also.

Run the program with the environment variable G_SPAWN_WIN32_DEBUG set
and you will see debugging information printed to stdout,
