SVN checkout problem

Hi all,

I am doing:
svn co http://svn.gna.org/svn/gnustep/apps/gworkspace

and get:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/svn/gnustep/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/svn/gnustep/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request 
(http://svn.gna.org)

I can do a svn list, so the connection is there, I guess.
There is a proxy between me and the Internet, but since list works I 
assumed a checkout would work also.

Am I doing something wrong?
