Just to clarify, there are some things that do work on Leopard. I have built make, baseadd, and gdl2 with a library combo of apple-apple- apple and have a (non-GUI) application that runs on Leopard and x86_64 Linux. I built make and base with a library combo of gnu-gnu-gnu on Leopard awhile back, but this combination has many more dependencies and issues.
