Apple's Interface Builder allows you to create standalone views, which is quite convenient for creating views that are supposed to be inserted into another window (e.g., the individual panes of an application's preferences window). Apparently, the obvious ways to do that in Gorm (dragging a custom view out of the palette and attempting to instantiate an NSView from the class browser) do not work. Am I missing a non-obvious way to create standalone views in Gorm or is this not supported? If the latter, are there any plans to implement this feature?
It is on the works, I have requested this feature to Gregory since months. It is not just a Gorm shortcoming, but a gui one too: if you use nib files instead of corm files created on mac, the stand alone view doesn't work properly. Some prorgess had been made this summer but it is not enough.
