Add to the list the 7th software I just tried. I know this is pretty
detailed, thus should goes to the app developer, which I'll do later.
Cynthiune 0.9.5
* Play mp3 music gets error 'Cynthinue[27451] error preparing output
for 2 channels at a rate of 44100.'
I noticed it depended on mad, thus I issue commandline 'madplay' to play
the very mp3 file, result: works out of the box. So the underlying
library must be functional.
Then I Checked setting of Cynthinue. there are General settings and OSS
settings. OSS have default device /dev/dsp, the same as madplay command.
General setting have 'Output module' which is an empty selection list,
nothing to choose from. I start to play smart thinking the developer
mis-calculated number of output modules in preparing selection list,
thus re-compile Cynthinue with both OSS and Esound. although Esound
doesn't work on my computer, having esound support, cynthinue allows me
to choose OSS then. Thus I managed to get it working.
