Hello,

  I installed my php runtime environment on mac os 10.10.4 following the bellow steps :

1. Download a blank MAMP environment
2. Drag n drop dolibarr in the htdocs  of the MAMP directory
   
3. add the library/bin of the MAMP to the PATH environment variable
   
4. install mariadb 10.0.16 using the  homebrew. mac package management system
   
5. Replace the mysql command in MAMP/Library/bin by the symbolics links to the homebrew /usr/local/bin directory
   

Note :

I have installed mariadb whith the  mysql_secure_installation command

My problem
Whatever the version is (developp, alpha, beta, 3.7, 3.8 ect…) dollibarr doesn't succeed to connect to the maradb server running on localhost (use link to screanshot in my owncloud space)

Have you tried to see if your mariadb is started ?

You can try to use another client or from a commandline to connect directly to the database.
