It's the first time for me to submit a bug for the sed package.
Today, i found that difference of the version status
between

cgit and translationproject.org

every translators are seeing old version of sed
(almost 4.5, but current-opened latest version is 4.7)
but i'm using sed-4.7 in my toy machine.

I know that official way to submit translation is to send gettext translation script
via email to address@hidden
by using filename package-version.lang.po into the title field.

could we get the latest version of template from the translationproject.org as soon as possible?
Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to write this.

Today, i found that difference of the version status
between

*cgit and translationproject.org <http://translationproject.org>*

every translators are seeing old version of sed
(almost 4.5, but current-opened latest version is 4.7)
but i'm using sed-4.7 in my toy machine.

That is a good observation but it misses a small detail:

The sed version on the translation project's website is
currently "sed-4.5.48.pot" - which means "48" changes (or git commits)
after version 4.5 - which is in practice very very close to version 4.7.

The translation people picked up a new POT file when a release-candidate
was announced (this was 4.5.48) - it was then released as 4.6
and (due to one critical bug) was updated to version 4.7 .

If you download the POT file from the translation project,
and compare it the POT file in sed 4.7,
you'll see that all the strings are identical.

I know that official way to submit translation is to send gettext
translation script
via email to address@hidden
by using filename package-version.lang.po into the title field.

I'm not familiar with the "robot@" method.
When a new SED version is announced (and prior to that, when a new
release-candidate is available), we always CC the "address@hidden" address.
The translators then know that a new POT version is available,
and can decide if they want/need to update.

could we get the latest version of template from the translationproject.org
as soon as possible?

You can write to "address@hidden" and ask them to
update the POT file to version 4.7 (available from the official GNU website), but the strings are identical - I don't think there will be
any practical change.

I hope this explains the situation.
I'm closing this bug-report, but discussion can continue by replying
to this thread.

 - assaf
