BTW, the emacswiki has been using an Emacs logo by Daniel Lundin.

I wonder: Could this be made the new official Emacs Logo? Emacs is
often associated with the gnu head and with the overflowing kitchen
sink. But nothing "official" -- the gnu head is used by the GNU
project, most kitchen sink icons I have seen look ugly. Even if we
don't adapt the EmacsLogo by Daniel Lundin, there are some
alternatives around. I like the following Gnu head with the promising
name "gnome-emacs.png" -- perhaps we could adopt it officially?

The reason I'm asking is that people often maintain Emacs related
pages; an "official" logo would server as a kind of "branding". I'm
not sure we actually want a branded gnu... :) Anyway, using the same
logo for the GNU project and for Emacs feels a bit awkward.

Alex.
