I like it: It concentrates on text. It doesn't look like a cute furry
animal. The orange color somehow associate it with hip-hop music and
sub-culture: young and fresh without being gaudy.
Looking at the various files in /etc:
emacs.xbm -- no
gnu.xpm -- no
gnus.xpm -- very nice, but associated with Gnus, not Emacs
splash8.xpm -- nice, but unusable as a logo because "Emacs" is hard to read
I believe that in order to be usable as a logo, it should be possible
to resize the image such that it can be used as an icon, a banner, a
button, a t-shirt, a mug, a book cover.
Anyway, the gnome-emacs.png file looks really nice (and it's a cute
furry animal, hehe). But alas, the Gnu head is associated with the
GNU project, not Emacs.
